The Cascade Chute Out kicked off this morning with a talented round of competition in slack. Steer wrestler Payden McIntyre won money with his 4.0 second run. Cory Kidd V and Clay Futrell stopped the clock at 4.2 seconds to lead the round in the team roping. Shane Erickson tied one down in 8.4 seconds to lead his event. Amber Crawford set the bar high with a time of 2.6 seconds this morning in the breakaway roping.
Another round of slack will take place tomorrow at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds starting at 9:00 a.m.
